Jane Rankin-Reid
Jane Rankin-Reid is one of Hobart's best known contrarian commentators and
contemporary art critic.
Her essays, reviews and opinion pieces have been published in the Guardian
UK, Le Monde Paris, the Age, The Australian and the Tasmanian Mercury among
others. Her extensive writings on Haitian Puerto Rican artist Jean Michel
Basquiat's work have been translated into many languages. Jane's book, Dale
Frank So Far; published by Black Inc. is due out later this year. She admits
to being scared of bad art and Wilderness Society Collection Koalas, but
Jane is nonetheless a fierce defender of free of speech and freedom of
expression especially through her weekly column in the Mercury's Sunday
Tasmanian.
Andrew Harper
has been running the Tasmanian Underground Film nights once a month for the
past year, but has been a Hobart Head since Theatre Sports was the thing to
do on a Friday night. Recently featured as part of an edition of collectors
cards featuring Australia's Most Uncollectable Artists for his super8
performance work entitled "Curse on the Howard Government".

Melbourne. Her practice consists of multiple streams: producing

and projects for festivals and organizations; creative and technical
consultation for organisations and curating screen-based work with a
